Description
Hand-held Radiation Isotope Identification Device (RIID) This Solicitation is for the acquisition of a commercially available Hand-held Radiation Isotope Identification Device for the detection, location, and identification of radioactive sources and materials by screeners at border crossings for interdiction of illicit trafficking, and for First Responders' usages. The RIID shall be ruggedly constructed for extended field usages, weather resistant, battery powered, and able to provide rapid location and accurate identification of radioactive nuclides, and emission measurement of sources in X-, gamma, and neutron radiations. Additional capability of dosage rates measurement is desirable. The RIID device shall passed, at minimum, the performance requirements and testing specified in ANSI N42.34 American national Standard Performance Criteria for Hand-Held Instruments for the Detection and Identification of Radionuclides. [The potential providers of the RIID devices under this solicitation shall include certified test results/test reports by a certified independent testing laboratory to demonstrate compliance to the ANSI N42.34 Standard. Requirements cited in the Standard and herein shall be considered complimentary. If any criterion specified herein is in variant or otherwise interpreted as contradicting to the above cited Standard, the more stringent requirement of the two shall govern. It is the discretion of the procuring activity to accept or reject any variations between the requirements stated herein and the product specifications of RIID submitted for consideration under this solicitation.] Required SALIENT CHARCTERISTICS for the RIID: The Salient Characteristics are being provided on the attached document as there are many symbols used that are lost when you do a cut and paste. Additionally, we would like to know what warranty is included, the cost and details of a one year extended warranty, and the procedure to utilize the warranty from Jordan. Does the vendor suggest training for the item? If they do, the cost of training in Jordan, duration, what the training will consist of and special requirements. All responses to this Market Survey should be received, NLT, 8 Jan 2010.
