- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The Department of the Army, Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Directorate of Contracting, Fort Lewis, WA is seeking information from qualified and interested sources for preliminary planning purposes. This is not a Request for Proposal. Solicitation number W911S8-10-R-0005 has been assigned to track responses to this synopsis. Information gathered as a result of this synopsis will be used to identify sources that are interested and capable of providing a computer technology training program at Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base in Washington state, and to obtain input to refine the Performance Work Statement (PWS) prior to soliciting offers. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. Description of Services: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary (except for Government furnished items and services) to deliver the required services. The computer technology training program will serve active duty military personnel and their adult family members and children, Department of Defense civilian employees and their family members, and retirees and their family members. Services shall include onsite and online classes, youth computer camps, and onsite computer lab support. A draft Performance Work Statement is attached. Interested parties are invited to submit comments and suggestions to improve on the clarity and completeness of this document to accomplish the stated purpose. The anticipated procurement will be a firm fixed-priced requirements contract, with a potential duration of two years including a base period and one 1-year option period. The NAICS contemplated for this requirement is 611420 with a size standard of $7.0 million. Responses to this notice should cite the above solicitation number, include company/ individual/ organization name, a service capability statement outlining past and current experience and prospective readiness to deliver the identified services in the near future, DUNS number, address; point of contact, and the type and size of your firm pursuant to the following questions: (1) Is your business large or small? (2) If small and disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (3) Is your firm a certified Hub Zone firm? (4) Is your firm a woman-owned business? (5) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business? Responses to this notice must be submitted in writing (email or fax) and received not later than January 15, 2010 by 10:00 AM. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. A solicitation for offers is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced on Federal Business opportunities website http://www.fbo.gov at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
