Description
The project involves general contractor services for the construction of two (2) new dormitories, a renovation and addition to the existing recreation building, site electrical upgrade to the campus and new buildings, and demolition of two existing dormitories at the Glenmont Job Corps Center, Glenmont, New York. The project will be a two-phased construction process. Phase I will include construction of a new 240 bed 41,189 gross square foot (GSF) dormitory building, a 3,415 gross square foot (GSF) addition and a 4,390 gross square foot (GSF) renovation to the existing recreation building, the site electrical upgrade and associated site work. Phase 2 includes construction of a new 136-bed 29,180 gross square foot (GSF) dormitory building, associated with site work and demolition of two existing dormitories totaling 72,000 gross square foot (GSF), including asbestos abatement as required. The project also includes construction of two new entries to the existing pedestrian east/west connector corridor, miscellaneous site improvements including but not limited to landscaping, pavements, storm drainage detention/retention systems and connections to all utility lines. The general contractor will be required to obtain all permits and approvals from local and state agencies required for construction of the project. The estimated cost is over $10 million. The estimated period of performance is over 34 months. In addition, all prospective Federal contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration which may be located at www.CCR.gov. Capability Statements should be written based on this synopsis, herein, which contains all pertinent information for the Request for Information (RFI). Further, all prospective contractors should include a DUNS number for your company. NOTICE: Capability Statements should be written with pertinent information on between 1-4 pages that demonstrates experience required for this project. The Capability Statement should be e-mailed to thorpe.olivia@dol.gov by January 12, 2010, 2:00 PM, EST.
