- PROJECT TITLE: REPLACE VISITOR CENTER ROOF AT DESOTO NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, MISSIOURI VALLEY, IA PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Fish and Wildlife Service requires construction services for the replacement of an existing ballasted EPDM roof with a thermoplastic membrane installed on a structural concrete roof deck. The roof is on a 1980's era Visitor Center that is approximately 27,950 square feet. The building is one plus story structure. Base Bid Item #1--Perform all work associated with the removal and replacement of the Visitor Center roof and not otherwise included in another Base Bid or Bid Option as described belwo. Base Bid roof replacement includes a 20-year warranty on the roof system. This work shall not be measured for payment and shall be performed on a lump sum basis. Bid Option #1--30 year roof warranty. Provide a 30 year roof system warranty in lieu of base bid 20 year warranty. This work shall not be measured for payment and shall be performed on a lump sum basis. A firm fixed price contract is contemplated that wil require performance and payment bonding to cover the estimated ceiling magnitude cost of the project. ESTIMATED MAGNITUDE: The magnitude of this requirement in terms of physical characteristics and estimated price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This procurement is issued unrestricted, and is NOT set-aside exclusively for small business concerns. For information purposes, the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 238160, Roofing Contractors, and the small business size standard is $14M. The solicitation package will be available via electronic commerce at http://ideasec.nbc.gov and http:///www.fedbizopps.gov on or about Jaunuary 15th, 2010 with a bid opening occuring on or about February 17th, 2010. The Solicitation Package will include the following: An itemized Bid Schedule, Scope of Work, Drawings, and Prevailing Wage Determinatin. Please ensure you have a complete downloaded Solicitation Package before submitting your Bid. It is the Contractor's responsibility to ensure that they receive all appropriate solicitation documents to submit a competitive Bid.
