Description
The Philadelphia VA Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Carestream Health, Inc., 150 Verona Street, Rochester, NY 14608-1733, for a two year maintenance service contract, including Software Updates for Kodak DR7100 and DR9000; Kodak Dryview Laser Imagers 8700, 8900 and 8300, Kodak Directview CR 825, 950 and 825 systems and Kodak 2000RT CR Plus System for our X-Ray Machines. It is essential to procure these services from Carestream Health, Inc. since the government requires a technician that has been trained and certified to work on these machines and since it is essential to have a local company and technician in order to expedite the repairs in order not to jeopardize patient care, and since Carestream Health, Inc. is the only company that has certified technicians that are trained and certified to work on this equipment. This announcement constitutes the only notice issued; a separate written solicitation will NOT be issued. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Vendors may identify their interest accompanied by supporting literature to the Contracting Office no later than December 30, 2009 by 12:30 P.M. Responses should be sent to Maureen.Jordan@va.gov or faxed to Maureen Jordan at (215) 823-6054. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
