- Description
- RECOVERY ACT PROJECT. The Department of Veteran Affairs is interested in awarding one (1) Firm Fixed Price construction contract for Cardiac Catheterization-Hemodialysis Suite Renovation project R693-07-109 at the Wilkes Barre VA Medical Center in Wilkes Barre PA. The scope of work shall include contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, testing, and reports required to convert the 4th floor Community Living Center (CLC) into a Cardiac Catheterization Suite and Hemodialysis Suite. Work will include demolition, ceiling replacement, wall covering, floor tile, handrail replacement, painting, new door installation, HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, electrical, water treatment system installation, Cath lab installation, possible asbestos abatement, and other work items as required. All work shall be performed in accordance with the drawings, plans and specifications. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the authority of FAR 19.14, Public Law 109-461 and the Veterans Benefits Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006 and is a100% set aside for the Service- Disabled Veteran-Owned Small business (SDVOSB). Contractors eligible for award shall be 51% or more owned and managed by Service Disabled Veterans. Service Disabled Veterans shall control the daily operations of the firm. The firm must be small under relevant North American Industrial Classification Standards (NAICS) code and the firm must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.vetbiz.gov, http://www.ccr.gov, and https://orca.bpn.gov. Bidders must ensure registration in these websites are not expired and are correct, current and valid.. Magnitude of this project is between $2M and $5M. Bid, Performance and Payment bonds will be required. The NAICS for this project is 236220 and the size standard is $33.5 million. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held, date/time/location to be provided in the solicitation. The solicitation documents will be posted on or about January 6, 2010.
