Description
Solication Documents Proposals are being solicited by the USDA, Forest Service for the Forest Wide Deferred Trail Maintenance and Re-construction project located on the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Lemhi and Custer Counties, Idaho. The Government intends to award multiple contracts to perform deferred maintenance and reconstruction on trails located throughout the Salmon-Challis National Forest and Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area. Work will be performed in wilderness and non-wilderness areas, and fire affected areas on different types of trails including hiker, pack and saddle, and motorized trails. The nature of the work varies for each trail and trail type. Work will include, but is not limited to: logging out of heavy downfall through past burned areas; removal of large rocks and slide material; blasting of rock ledge material; relocation of trail that have migrated downhill over time; re-establishment of trails through avalanche paths; normal maintenance on trail sections to tread width and clearing standards; construction of drainage structures and dry wall stacking on damaged trail sections; and trail surfacing on sections causing resource damage. This requirement is being solicited as a Firm-Fixed Price Request for Proposal using negotiated procedures. The approximate start work date will be spring of 2010 as trails become accessible. Proposals are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, January 20 2010. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The solicitation will be available on approximately November 30, 2009 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http:www.ccr.gov and shall complete the On-Line Registration and Certifications Application (ORCA) http://orca.bpn.gov.. All responsible sources may submit a response to this announcement which will be considered by this agency.
