Amended Plans Amendment 0007 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the award of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract to perform maintenance dredging of the Long Island Intracoastal Waterway Federal Navigation Project, NY, in the Moriches Bay section of the channel, with subsequent placement of the dredged material at a nearby beach and/or at a nearby upland stockpile. The proposed maintenance dredging would remove up to 45,040 cubic yards (CY) of predominately sand to a depth of up to 6 feet below Mean Low Water with 2 feet allowable overdepth. The proposed maintenance would also include 1 option for additional dredging of another section of the channel and placement at a nearby beach and/or at a nearby upland stockpile totaling 24,620 CY. The channel is in Suffolk County, NY. It is anticipated that dredging and disposal would take place within the approximate time period of November 2009 to January 2010. The work including the option is estimated to cost between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The time for contract completion of the option will be determined by allowing a rate of one (1) calendar day for each 1,000 CY of dredged material placed. The performance period for the option will be 13 calendar days, if exercised. Estimated period of performance for both the basic and optional work is sixty-six (66) calendar days.
