- Description: The Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center, Walla Walla, WA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement in accordance with FAR Part 13 with Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD&C), 7 Loveton Circle, Sparks, MD 21152. This procurement is for software renewal licenses and the associated software support for the Bactec 9050 Blood Culture System. The software is proprietary. Support services must be provided by manufacturer-certified technicians. The manufacturer of the Bactec 9050 is BD&C. Support may be provided via telephone or by having a technician on site as the situation may warrant. The resulting contract will be for base and four (4) option years. Option years are exercised at the sole discretion of the government. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received within 10 calendar days after date of publication of this notice may be considered by the Government IF proof of certification BD&C to provide these services for the Bactec 9050 is provided with the proposal. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
