- The Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing and delivering 60mm/81mm High Explosive (HE) mortar Cartridges. Potential candidates must have the production capability to provide a combination of up to 36,000 60mm/81mm High Explosive Mortar Cartridges per month. All facilities must have safety clearance to handle various hazard classifications (i.e. 1.1EC-1.3G) for: M768, NSN: 1310-01-487-1944; M720A1, NSN: 1310-01-418-4362; M821A2, NSN: 1315-01-418-4361; M889A1, NSN: 1315-01-353-7619; M889A2, NSN: 1315-01-541-0802, M1061, NSN: 1301-01-541-6178. It is anticipated that fuzes, fins, shell bodies, propelling charges, ignition cartridges, Composition B explosive fill, and warheads will be provided as Government Furnished Material (GFM). Otherwise all other components are the responsibility of the contractor. All responding sources shall provide a summary of their companys capabilities including organizations, name, address, point of contact, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number, CAGE Code, and a description of facilities/equipment, manufacturing process, inspection capability, personnel, past experience as an ammunition melt pour capability, load/assemble/pack producer or systems contractor, proven monthly production capacity and/or potential capability, possible partnering/teaming arrangements, and whether the company is a small or large business. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the U.S. Government and will be held in confidential status. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), solicitation, or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. This is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. It is anticipated that a draft Request for Proposal will be issued at a later date and the program intends to host an industry day. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey.
