Description
LAKE ISABELLA WATER TANKS REPLACEMENT PROJECT This project is for the installation of three water storage tanks on the Kern River District, Lake Isabella Area, Sequoia National Forest. The tanks shall be installed at Boulder Gulch Campground – 30,000gallons, French Gulch Group Campground/Administrative site – 40,000 gallons, and Pioneer Point/Main Dam Campgrounds – 40,000 gallons. At each site the existing tanks shall be demolished and hauled off of National Forest Lands. At Boulder Gulch Campground the 30,000 gallon steel welded tank with concrete base,fencing, valves and piping shall demolished and removed.The 40,000 gallon steel bolted tanks at French Gulch Group Campground and Pioneer Point Campground along with fencing, valves and piping shall be demolished and removed with the steel grade rings and gravel remaining in place (if useable). The project is located on the Kern River Ranger District, Lake Isabella Area, Sequoia National Forest. From Bakerfield, CA drive east 45 miles east on SH 178 proceeding through the Lower Kern River Canyon SH 178 to the Lake Isabella SH 155 turnoff. Proceed west (turn left) 3 miles to the Pioneer Point Camgpround entrance. From the Pioneer Point Campground proceed north on SH 155 approximately 2 miles to the French Gulch Group Campground/Administrative site entrance turn left proceed into county maintenance yard entrance and proceed left (west)down a dirt road ½ mile to tank site (end of road). From the French Gulch Group Campground/Administrative site entrance proceed north on SH 155 approximately 3 miles to the Boulder/Hungry Gulch Campground entrance. The Boulder Gulch Campground water tank site proceed to the right following dirt roads to the tank. The tank can be seen from the entrance. A pre-bid tour will not be conducted, offerors are encouraged to visit the project sites on their own. The price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The estimated contract time is 210 calendar days Estimated start work date is March 1, 2010. Issue date is approximately January 8, 2010 with a closing date of approximately February 12, 2010. This project is being issued unrestricted.
