Description
On 18 December 2009, this office issued Invitations for Bid for construction of the TRAINING SUPPORT CENTER, PN 03676, FORT CARSON, COLORADO. The solicitation will close on or about 2 February 2010. A site visit date has been scheduled on 5 January 2010. beginning at 1:00 p.m. (local time) at Building 304, Fort Carson, CO. To register attendance for the site visit, Contractors should contact the Fort Carson Resident Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, P.O. Box 13049, Fort Carson, CO 80902, Telephone (719) 526-5448, FAX (719) 526-5365, e-mail Carmen.B.Walker@usace.army.mil or Robert.T.Giles@usace.army.mil prior to date of site visit. The Contractors will need to provide: names of persons attending along with name of company, phone and fax number. Please see solicitation documents for detailed information regarding the site visit. This project will provide space for administration, a Training Aids Devices Simulators and Simulation (TADSS) storage, a high bay warehouse suitable for forklifts, classrooms, and a Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) Close Loop Support (CLS) maintenance area. The facility will be heated by a self-contained heating system, and all but the warehouse area will be air conditioned. Facility will also have a fire protection system, installation of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS) connections and building information systems. Supporting facilities include; military van parking area, all required utilities, perimeter security fencing, site improvements and information systems. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $15,000,000 and $18,000,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 540 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
