- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) -Iowa City, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Architecture/Engineering (A/E) services, "A/E Relocate Surgical Operating Rooms" at the VAMC in Iowa City, IA. NAICS Code 541310, size standard $4.5 million. The A/E contract will include investigative services for structural feasibility and services for complete design including architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems (with reviews); reproduction of design documents; construction period services; final inspections and as-built drawings. The services of a third party Fire Protection Engineer will also be required. This project will create a new Surgical Operating Suite at this medical center to replace an aging and outdated surgical operating suite, which is now in use. The new Surgical Operating Suite would cover approximately 14,000 gross square feet and be constructed above the third floor of the existing clinical addition which was constructed in the 1980's. It would also include the renovation of approximately 3,000 gross square feet of adjacent area. These are estimates only and may be adjusted to provide more new construction and less renovation as program criteria are finalized. Construction will require phasing to maintain access to occupied areas. The estimated construction cost range is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Area of consideration: Firms must be within a 300 mile radius of the VAMC, 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246.
