Description
Notice of proposed cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) negotiations. The United States Geological Survey (USGS), a federal agency under the Department of Interior, is announcing its intent to enter into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences, Inc., with offices in Shelton, CT. The objective of the CRADA is to improve the capability of atomic spectrometry instruments to be used in geochemical analyses. The USGS, through its Geoanalytical Research Chemistry Project within the Crustal Imaging and Characterization Team, works to develop and provide access to state-of-the-art chemical analysis hardware and software that can solve difficult problems in the field of analytical geochemistry. The USGS is authorized to enter into CRADAs under the Stevenson-Wydler Technology Innovation Act of 1980, the Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986, and the Technology Transfer Commercialization Act of 2000, as embodied in Title 15 of the United States Code, Chapter 63 (Technology Innovation). If any other parties are interested in similar activities with the USGS, please contact Dr. Ruth E. Wolf, Project Chief, Geoanalytical Research Chemistry, telephone: (303) 236-2470. For more information on the science, visit the Program website at http://crustal.usgs.gov/. For information on CRADAs, contact Sharon Borland, Technology Transfer Officer, telephone: (703) 648-6723 or sborland@usgs.gov.
