Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, San Juan, Puerto Rico is seeking potential sources capable of providing Pest Management and Control Services in the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, San Juan, Puerto Rico,Tres Rios Bldg,Procurement Business Division Office(6th Floor)and Fiscal Service(3rd Floor)Guaynabo,Puerto Rico,Arecibo CBOC,Arecibo P.R and other VA facilities located in P.R.,as required.This requirement shall be performed by certified,trained and licensed pest control operators in any or all categories as required by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.All pest control operators must conform to all Federal,State and Local governing regulations pertaining to the performance of and the use of pest control chemicals and the labeled directions.All supervisory/working leader personnel engaged in directing the work to be accomplished shall possess at least two(2)years of recent experience in directing Medical Facility Integrated Pest Management(IPM) type operations.The personnel employed by the Contractor shall be capable employees qualified in Integrated Pest Management(IPM) type work with at least one(1)year of medical experience. All Integrated Pest Management(IPM)tasks shall be accomplished to meet the guidelines as shown in the National Pest Control Associations good practice statements.The Contractor is to provide detailed,site-specific recommendations for structural and procedural modifications to aid in pest prevention.Services shall include surveillance,trapping,pesticide application,and pest removal components.The contract requires pest control of(1)general structure arthropod pests(cockroaches,ants,spiders,carpet beetles,etc.)Control of (2) flying insect pests(housefly,etc)Control of (3)parasite pests(lice bedbugs,fleas,mites,scorpions,ticks,mosquitoes,etc.)Control of (4)nuisance or occasional invader pests(bee,wasp,scorpions,crickets,etc.)Control of(5)stored product pests(sawtooth grain beetle,red confused flour beetles, trogroderma beetles,grain moths,etc.)Control of(6)mice and rats(house mouse,field mouse,roof rat,Norway rat,etc.)Control of(7)of pests birds(pigeons,sparrows,blackbirds,etc.)Control of(8)exterior insects to protect against ants at the premises(ants)Control of(9)other vertebrate pests(dogs,cats,bats,snakes and all other vertebrates other than commensal rodents, etc.).The Contractor shall perform routine services that do not adversely affect patients and employee health or productivity during normal operating hours7:30AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday,excluding Federal Holidays.The period of performance is from April 01, 2010(or date of award)through September 30, 2010 with four(4) one(1) year renewal options that can be exercised by the Government.The applicable NAIC Code is 561710/Exterminating and Pest Control Services/Size Standard $7.0mil. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following name and address of company;business size(large or small);identify whether or not firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories-Service Disabled Veterans-Owned(SDVOSB),Veteran-Owned,Hubzone, 8(a),Women-Owned; firms experience in providing local Pest Management and Control Services within VAMC in a professional setting and any other pertinent information, which demonstrates ability to meet the above requirement.
