- M 61 Filter Canister Synopsis for DRAFT RFP Number: W911SR-09-R-0020 The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Contracting Center, Edgewood Division, intends to issue a DRAFT Request for Proposal (s) (RFP) solicitation on or about 20 November 2009 for the production of chemical and biological protective canisters/filters, M61, for the Chemical-Biological (CB) Joint Service General Purpose Mask (JSGPM), Field M50 and JSGPM, Combat Vehicle M51. The performance requirements of the M61 canister are specified in performance specification PRF-EA-C-2251, which is an attachment. The concept for the M 61 canister spares is delivery of fully functional and operational JSGPM filters for CB Protective Mask Systems. The government intends to make multiple Best Value awards. The total period of performance will be for 84 months, allowing 24 months to pass First Article Testing. Proposals will be evaluated in accordance with FAR 15, Contracting by Negotiation, FAR 16.504 Indefinite Quantity, and 16.202 Fixed Price. The DRAFT RFP will be available on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Interactive Business Opportunities Page (IBOP) website on or around 20 November 2009. All interested parties may access the IBOP website at the following web address: https://abop.monmouth.army.mil/. This announcement numberW911SR-09-R-0020, is a DRAFT RFP and is the controlling document for this government requirement. The U. S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse companies or entities that respond to this DRAFT RFP. All costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed. The DRAFT RFP documents are provided solely for informational purposes. They may be revised and offerors are cautioned to ensure that they use the final version of these documents which will be posted when the official solicitation is issued. No hard copy of this solicitation will be issued. Amendments, if any will be posted at the same location as this DRAFT RFP. It is the responsibility of those respondents to obtain all amendments and applicable documents. The FINAL RFP is scheduled for release on or about December 15, 2009. This will be the controlling document for preparation and submission of proposals.
