- THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) -Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636A6-09-104, "Correct Electrical Deficiencies Phase V," at the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System, Des Moines, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work will include but is not be limited to demolition and replacement of electrical equipment, installation of new electrical equipment, demolition of underground high voltage cable, installation of new underground cabling, and other electrical demolition and replacement work as required by the specifications and drawings. Work is to be completed within 365 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (allison.bacon2@va.gov). Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for November 23, 2009. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date will be on or about December 22, 2009, at 1:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 238210, with the applicable size standard being $14.0 million. Cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00.
