THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE AND THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ON NOVEMBER 27, 2009. ALL PROPOSALS ARE DUE BY 3:00 PM EST DECEMBER 15, 2009. Delivery address will be notated within the solicitation. NO OTHER INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE SOLICITATION IS POSTED. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Job Corps intends to procure design-build services to design, construct, and construction administration of a 2,400 gross square foot addition to the south end of Building 8 to expand the welding shop and to relocate the welding theory classrrom at the Great Onyx Job Corps Center located in Mammoth, Kentucky. Assign the vacated welding theory classroom to soft vocations. The building addition should be similar to the existing metal (Butler type) building. Within the new space, the 350 square foot classroom shoul be air-conditioned; the welding shop should be heated and well-ventilated. The shop expansion will require electrical capacity upgrade. The work shall also include miscellaneous site improvements in the form of general landscaping, roads, parking, drainage, connection to all utility lines and site/security lighting for the new building. The proposed method of procurement will be HUBZone Competition. The period of performance will begin within 14 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP) and shall be completed within approximately 210 calendar days from receipt of NTP. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million.
