Description

THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE AND THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ON NOVEMBER 27, 2009. ALL PROPOSALS ARE DUE BY 3:00 PM EST DECEMBER 15, 2009. Delivery address will be notated within the solicitation. NO OTHER INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE SOLICITATION IS POSTED. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Job Corps intends to procure design-build services to design and renovate Buildings 405, 408, 420, 425, 427, 440, 444, 445, 507, & 533 at the Blackwell Civilian Conservation Center located in Laona, Wisconsin. The work in Building 408 is to renovate existing space to accommodate vocational training needs totaling approximately 1,200 gross square feet and will include the demolition of the existing flooring, ceilings and interior partitions as well as the construction of new partitions, installation of new floor and ceiling finishes. In addition to general construction and demolition work, the modification of heating and ventilation systems, as well as electrical power and lighting systems will be necessary. Other work will include improvements to exhaust ventilation in Buildings 420 and 444; upgrades of the fire alarm systems in Buildings 405 and 440; repair and replacement of the roofs in Buildings 405,425 and 450; the replacement of the heating and ventilating equipment in Building 405; the repair and replacement of interior/exterior doors and frames in Buildings 445 and 507; and radon testing in Buildings 408, 420, 427, 440, and 533. The proposed method of procurement will be HUBZone Competition. The period of performance will begin within 14 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP) and shall be completed within approximately 273 calendar days from receipt of NTP. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million.
