- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA), Atlanta Region, plans to issue Request for Proposals (RFP) solicitations to acquire Medical Consultant (MC) Services in the specialty of Physical Medicine (3 each). This requirement is a 100 percent small business set-aside. The NAICS codes are 621111. The Size Standard is $9.0 million. Proposals received from other than small business concerns will not be accepted. Proposals must include all required information outlined in the solicitations to be considered responsive. The services will be performed at SSA Southeastern Program Service Center, 1200 8 th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL. The contractors responsibilities will include: providing oral and/or written consultations resulting from reviews of SSA disability case files; consulting with SSA medical policy staff related to the development of SSA disability policies; training other MC contractors and other personnel; working with Government and non-government agencies and/or medical or non-medical personnel that have related interests in providing input regarding SSA programs and its objectives. There will be no contact with patients. The period of performance shall be from date of award with provisions for four 1-year renewable option periods. Solicitation SSA-RFP-10-1014 is scheduled for release on or about November 20, 2009 with a closing date of December 04, 2009. No telephone requests for the RFP will be honored. The solicitation (and any amendments) will be available for downloading on the Federal Business Opportunity website at www.fedbizopps.gov for all interested parties. Note: Any prospective offeror must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. To register in CCR at the website: www.ccr.gov, applicants must have a DUN and Bradstreet number and Tax Identification Number (TIN). All contract awardees will have to undergo a security background screening. SPECIAL NOTE: CONTRACTORS THAT ARE CONDUCTING CONSULTATIVE EXAMINATIONS FOR SSA SHOULD NOT APPLY DUE TO CONFLICT OF INTEREST PER SSA POLICY POMS DI 39569.100. RELOCATIONS EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED OR PAID.
