- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Carl Zeiss MicroImaging, Inc., P.O. Box 5943, New York, New York, 10087-5943, for annual preventive maintenance, including parts, labor, travel expenses, and one preventive maintenance inspection of the following: 1) Axio Observer D2, SN: 3833000222, and accessories, including AxioCam HRc Rev.2 and Zeiss 29D with axiocam or AV; 2) Axiovert 200M Motorized, SN: 3820001663, and accessories, including AxioCam HRc Rev.2 with 3.3V interface, AxioCam MRm Rev.2, Zeiss Imaging with s 25A High End, and Motorized Scanning Stage; 3) Stereo Discovery V12 Microscope Body, SN: 3912001152, and accessories, including AxioCam HRc Rev.2 and Zeiss 29D WS with Axiocam or AV; 4) Pascal with one microscope, SN: 1209000207. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy the Agency's requirements because this is the only service that can meet the requirements for preventive maintenance because anyone other than Zeiss authorized personnel attempting to repair or service the eequipment would exclude Zeiss from their obligations. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
