Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. W911XK-10-T-0001 - Marine Inspections, Evaluations, and Quality Control Services Contractor must provide the necessary tools, equipment, instruments, and materials to perform engineering inspections and evaluations with written recommendations and findings, and quality control for work performed either by contractors or Government employees on structures and equipment associated with floating plant, marine, lock and hydropower applications. In most cases, all work is to be provided in the field, which is generally at the Soo Area Office in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, however calls may be required at other locations throughout the Detroit District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Contractor must also have experience with inspection and evaluation of barge and derrick hulls. Floating plant and marine equipment includes, but is not limited to, derricks, cranes, barges, tug boats, stiff-leg derricks, a lock gate-lifter derrick, equipment and components used in hydropower generation plants, steam generation plants and associated equipment and steam lines. Engineers providing the services must be trained and hold the following minimum certifications: PE - Professional Engineers Registration Accredited Marine Surveyor to OSHA 29 CFR Part 1919 for shore based material handling devices, floating cranes and derricks. The contractor must be capable of providing service 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
