Description
AIR FORCE/INDUSTRY AIR AND SUSTAINMENT TECHNOLOGY INTERCHANGE WORKSHOP FOR INDEPENDENT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (IR&D) AND SMALL BUSINESS INNOVATION RESEARCH (SBIR) TRANSITION SUPPORT. The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC), and the Air Force Materiel Command Air Logistics Centers (ALC) will conduct an air and sustainment technology interchange workshop on 3-5 November 2009, at the Dayton Marriott, 1414 S. Patterson Blvd, Dayton, Ohio 45409, Phone: 1-937-223-1000. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-information/travel/dayoh-dayton-marriott/. This invitation to attend is open to DoD military, civilians, DoD technical support contractors, and Industry contractors that maintain a valid DD Form 2345. Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement. On the first day, this workshop commences with a plenary overview whereby ASC, AFRL, and the ALCs present their new near- and mid-term acquisition and sustainment technology needs. On days two and three of the workshop, two simultaneous tracks are anticipated for the IR&D and the SBIR Transition Support programs. The IR&D track on days two and three will be limited to those Industry contractors that participated in the ASC-ALC IR&D workshop events of September and December 2008, and will focus on technical discussions related to those two events. The SBIR Transition Support track on days two and three will be an opportunity for major contractors to meet with small businesses one-on-one to discuss relevant SBIR programs of significant interest and potential to be transitioned - this SBIR track is only open to small businesses by invitation from a major contractor only. This announcement is an expression of interest only and does not obligate the government in any way. Response to this request is voluntary and will not impact any future acquisitions. RESPONSE: Please respond, to the appropriate point of contact, within 15 business days of the publication of this announcement with your intent to attend the workshop and a copy of your DD Form 2345, Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement. RESTRICTIONS: These meetings are unclassified, U.S. Defense companies only. In order to attend, you must either be a DoD employee or DoD contractor with a valid DD Form 2345. LIMITATIONS: Due to resource constraints and expectations for responses to this announcement, we anticipate having a more limited group of companies to participate in these sessions. It is the policy of AFRL to treat all IR&D abstracts and relevant presentations as proprietary and to disclose their contents only for the purpose of Government analysis, planning and execution of AF/Industry Technology Interchange Workshops for IR&D and SBIR. Standard proprietary disclaimers notwithstanding, IR&D abstracts may be reviewed by non-Government technical support contractors and technical experts on the IR&D team who have signed a nondisclosure agreement with the Government. Personnel under contract with AFRL who have completed the appropriate nondisclosure agreements will also handle the IR&D abstracts for administrative purposes. All proprietary information is submitted with the above understanding and should be marked accordingly. If you take exception to the aforementioned statements, you must notify the AFRL IR&D Program Office, AFRL.HQ.IRDPM@WPAFB.AF.MIL, or call 937-656-9176 by NLT 15 days before the workshop to make alternate arrangements for the handling of your proprietary information.
