- NOTE: This procurement was transitioned from the Cherry Point NAVAIR Contracts Office to the Cherry Point USMC Supply Directorate Contracting Department effective 21 June 2009. Contract effective/start date: 9/28/2009. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for the design, manufacture, delivery, and installation of a a Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Vertical Grinding Machine (VGM) at the FRC East. The contractor shall be responsible for all aspects of the project up through acceptance testing and training. This includes all deliveries, unloading, uncrating, handling, moving, assembly, removal of old machine/equipment, etc. The machine will be used for rework and manufacturing of military aircraft components. Outside Diameter (OD) and Inside Diameter (ID) profile grinding and boring operations will be carried out to fully repair Department of Defense (DOD) aircraft components to be placed back in service for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
