- NAICS Code: 811219 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), National Enforcement Investigations Center (NEIC) in Denver, Colorado, intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part Thirteen (13), SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures, to JEOL USA, Inc. of Peabody, Massachusetts. This acquisition will provide service contracts to maintain a JEOL JSM 6460-LV Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), a JEOL JSM 6400 SEM, and several accessories. The agreement includes service provided by a trained JEOL technician for: (2) preventative maintenance visits; instrument calibration; and emergency visits with a 48 hour average response time. JEOL is the only organization with the combination of proprietary knowledge, trained service personnel, and available parts that is capable of properly servicing these JEOL SEMs. No solicitation or Request For Quote (RFQ) is available for this procurement. Nevertheless, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting the EPA requirements described herein may submit a response; which, if received by September 28, 2009 at 2:00 pm EDT, will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the described purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government.
