Description
RECOVERY ACT PROJECT: THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS PROJECT OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CONTRACTORS UNDER THE CURRENT MALMSTROM AFB, MT SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION OF BASE ENGINEERING REQUIREMENTS (SABER) INDEFINITE DELIVERY/INDEFINITE QUANTITY (IDIQ) CONTRACT. REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment and incidentals necessary to remove and replace the 2 nd Ave. guard house and install a heater in the 10 th Ave. guard house. The existing canopy over the 2 nd Ave. guard house will be retained. Work shall include, but is not limited to: 01 - Demolition - Construct temporary shack at the "1 st Liberty" entrance on Perimeter Road prior to any demo work. Temp shack will require heat, electrical, and phone line. Remove existing 2 nd Ave. guard house, including the slab and curb to the extents required. Protect existing footings and columns for canopy, which will not be disturbed. Protect canopy, if necessary, to prevent any damage during construction. Disassemble and remove wiring and components for electrical service, CCTV, license plate reader, gate controls, barrier controls, PA system and other electronic devices to be reinstalled on new gate house. Remove old, inoperative antennas from east canopy column. Demolish bollards located east of the guard house. 02 - Site Work - Protect cables and wiring for electronic devices, which will be re-installed in new guard house. Remove and replace front gate catches as required. Protect existing canopy. New structure shall include stem wall and spread footer foundation. Spread footer to be below frost depth with a 12" engineered fill base. Excavate entire floor slab area to depth of stem wall. Backfill with engineered fill for 6" concrete floor slab. Replace all damaged and removed concrete/asphalt with new. Curb configuration will not change. Road lane size and configuration will remain same as existing. 03 - Architectural - Construct 2 nd Ave. guard house. Exterior shall be brick veneer to match existing column bases. Exterior walls shall be 6" grout-filled CMU, with appropriate seismic vertical reinforcement. Interior walls shall be 18 ga x 3- 5/8" steel studs. Entire floor shall be 12" x 12" non-slip ceramic tile with 4" tile cove base. Ceilings shall be suspended acoustical tile. Interior wallboard shall be high-abuse 5/8" drywall, level 5 smooth finish. 4' of wall tile in bathroom, with 5/8" Durrock substrate or approved equal. All floor tile will be filled with an acrylic or epoxy grout. Install plastic laminate countertop according to attached drawings. Install UL 752 Level 5 ballistic glass in front and side building panels, as specified in drawings. All framing shall be steel. Install standing seam metal hip roof as specified in drawings. Install new bollards. 05 - Mechanical - Install appropriately-sized electric heat pump with ductwork in new guard house. Install new bathroom fixtures as specified in drawings. 06 - Electrical - Install 100 amp electrical service in new guard house with new panel. Reinstall existing exterior panels and switches on exterior of shack in the mech/elec area. Install new radiant heater on outside wall of guard house in addition to reinstalling existing overhead radiant heat. Install 3' curtain heater above south door. Lighting shall be recessed. Assemble and install new wiring and components for CCTV, license plate reader, gate controls, barrier controls, PA system and other electronic and communication devices. REV 1: Install permanent outdoor phone on CMU wall next to Liberty gate. 10 th Ave. Guard House - Install 3' forced air electric curtain heater above both doors on gate house.
