- RECOVERY. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. This project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. A firm fixed priced contract was awarded to Claro Company, Inc. of Easley, SC, under contract AG-4384-C-09-0006. The contract is for the "Replacement of HVAC and Plumbing" in three research facilities located on the Coastal Plains Soil, Water and Plant Research Center in Florence, SC, to address deferred maintenance of critical mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and incidental repairs. This contract was awarded as an 8(a) sole-source in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 19.8 and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Small Business Administration. The selection of Claro Company was based on market research, successful past performance and proximity to the research location. Three line items totaling $279,985 were awarded under ARRA funding. The fourth line item was awarded with local program funding at an amount of $101,810.
