- Description
- Painting large industrial structures and hydraulic stationary and floating structures to include but not limited to bridges, catwalks, sluice gates, floating bulkheads, tainter gates and tainter gate superstructures and control equipment and stoplogs. Preparation of surfaces prior to painting include sandblasting, compliance with all environmental laws and regulations to include control of sandblasting material and residue, welding, minor structural repair work, and general repair work which could include repair of pitted areas of steel structures with weld buildup prior to painting, welding of damaged gate support members and replacement of gate seals. Conditions may include working in confined spaces, staging from a barge in the navigation channel. Site evacuation may be required with 24 hours notice, without assistance from the Corps of Engineers.
