- Description
- The work required includes replacing two existing boilers with new water heaters and upgrading air handling equipment to improve the efficiency of heating and air handling systems at the Santa Fe Indian Hospital. This requirement is for a proposal leading to issuance of a delivery order under a competitively awarded Job Order Contract (JOC) for the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service. The contractor is Native American Services Corp with a field office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Scope of Work includes (1) installation of two new water heaters to replace existing steam boilers and (2) install variable speed air handler drives at the Santa Fe Indian Hospital located at Santa Fe, New Mexico. Existing boilers are over 30 years old and obsolete. Steam for sterilization is no longer needed at the hospital and providing space heating by steam has become an expensive and labor intensive process. The existing air handlers are single speed units with low efficiency. Energy savings can be realized by upgrading the drives and controls. The contractor shall analyze existing systems to select appropriate equipment to provide heating, variable speed motors and controls for adequate heating to all appurtenances. The contractor shall determine if additional components are required for efficient use of exiting piping, coils, etc. and for efficient air distribution. The contractor shall provide electronic system controls and actuators for direct connection to the existing DDC system. The contractor shall also remove and dispose of existing boilers, associated equipment and air distribution equipment as required and provide training to hospital maintenance staff on the proper operation of the installed equipment. The contractor will provide “As-built” drawings of the completed systems in both paper and AutoCadd media. For further information on subcontracting opportunities contact Mr. Don Williamson at Native American Services Corp. at 5520 Midway Park Place NE, Albuquerque NM 87109, Ph. (505) 831-4998
