Description
Section 705 - Rock Elements of work Preliminary Plans Notice to Offerors NOTICE OF SUBCONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY MT PRA GLAC 10(31), Phase XI of the Going-to-the-Sun Road Rehabilitation – Logan Pass to Siyeh Bend, Glacier National Park, Glacier County, MT. This project will be solicited to the Glacier SATOC Contractor - HK Contractors Inc. Information on the IDIQ contractor may be found on our website at: http://www.wfl.fhwa.dot.gov/contracting/construction/idiq/gtsr.htm. The project consists of grading, drainage, base, paving, guardwalls, and retaining walls. The work site is located approximately 32 miles northeast of West Glacier, MT, and begins at approximately Milepost 32 and heads eastbound. The work ends at approximately Milepost 34.8. See the Project Description document for further details. Work shall be completed by October 31, 2012. Project magnitude is between $10 million and $15 million. PRELIMINARY PLANS and a letter with additional project information are in electronic format only and are posted with this synopsis. Registering at ADD TO WATCHLIST box insures notification when solicitation documents are posted. When solicitation documents are issued, the REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (specifications and plans) will be posted at this site. RIPRAP AND ROCKERY WALL STONE MATERIALS To determine if potential riprap or rockery wall stone material sources will meet the requirements, Section 705 of the specifications is issued with this announcement. Material Sources wishing to be listed as a potential source should submit their Name, Location of the Pit, and Contact information. Submittal via e-mail to eplans@dot.gov is required. Once submitted an inspection will be accomplished and a report indicating the result of the inspection will be provided. Potential material sources are encouraged to submit their information timely to ensure an inspection can be accomplished PRIOR to snowfall. Once snowfall has occurred, inspections will not be accomplished. Sources that have been accepted will be added to the list of potential sources and provided to HK Contractors Inc. as the prime contractor.
