- RFP No. 663-P-08-039 solicitation was a full and open competition, under which any type of organization (large or small commercial [for profit] firms, non-for-profit organizations or educational institution) was eligible to compete The Food by Prescription (FBP) is designed to: (1) provide technical assistance in the delivery of therapeutic and supplementary food products; (2) integrate clinical nutritional assessment and counseling services into public health facilities; (3) build the capacity of the public sector to train health professionals including case managers, persons living with HIV/AIDS/community agents and other cadres of health workers in nutrition counseling and therapeutic feeding; (4) support pre-service nutrition programs at local colleges and universities; (5) support local production, marketing and distribution of therapeutic foods through local commercial organizations; and (6) create economic opportunities for beneficiaries along the value chain. This is a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) completion type contract.
