Amendment 03 Questions and Answers Solicitation number:W911RZ-09-T-0349 1.QUESTION: Can you address who, or what authority signed the justification and approval? RESPONSE: The brand name requirement has been changed to a brand name or equal requirement. 2.QUESTION: How is installation to be quoted? RESPONSE: Installation should be included in your quotation for each CLIN. However, installation charges shall not be quote separately. (See question 3 for additional information). 3.QUESTION: I see that a plan needs to be forwarded for review and approval. Is the plan a part of this solicitation or after? RESPONSE: After contract award, the contractor is required to submit the installation plan for bldgs 7450 and 7460 to the Contracting Officer prior to starting the installation. Therefore, do not submit an installation plan with your written price quotation in response to this solicitation. 4.QUESTION: What are the types and quantities of weapons to be stored? Will they have NVGS attached? RESPONSE: Please see attachment to this amendment. 5.QUESTION: Will they be storing NVGs and other optics in these cabinets? RESPONSE: Yes. 6.QUESTION: Will they have NVGS attached? RESPONSE: Yes. 7.QUESTION: Will they be storing NVGs and other optics in these cabinets? RESPONSE: YES 8.QUESTION: Our cabinets are 44 inches wide versus 36 wide. Will this be acceptable? RESPONSE: YES 9.QUESTION: CLIN 0006. What is a universal Compatible plate #1. RESPONSE: The compatibility plate is a steel insert panel (metal pegboard) in the weapon storage cabinet which allows for the use of most standard storage bins, baskets and hooks. The plate is a non proprietary item available from Secureit Tactical Inc. 10.QUESTION: CLIN 07 4 in x 7 in x 3 in package of 16 equates into quantity 32x16 per package = 512 total bins total. Is this correct? RESPONSE: 512 is the correct quantity. 11.QUESTION: Is it possible for a site visit before the bid is due? No, a site visit will be conducted with the awardee after contract award. 12.QUESTION: Do you prefer to store weapons together? RESPONSE: Yes. 13.QUEESTION: What are the quantities bayonets and other items to be stored? RESPONSE: Bayonets will not be stored. Other items and quantities are listed under paragrapgh 4 (above). 14.QUESTION: Do you prefer to store a soldiers suite of gear (optics, cleaning kits etc. all together) RESPONSE: Yes 15.QUESTION: Will weapons be stored with optics mounted/zeroed to the weapon? RESPONSE: Yes. 16.QUESTION: Which models are stored on the weapon and which off? RESPONSE: The M-4 will be the only weapon stored with its optics mounted. 17.QUESTION: Would you prefer to have magazines stored in a separate rack for security purposes? RESPONSE: Yes. 18.QUESTION: Can you provide a drawing of the rooms these are going into and note ceiling clearances, lightening, sprinklers, doors, alarm system locations and any other pertinent information. RESPONSE: The Government will not provide a drawing; however, the using organization has determined the allowable/usable storage space to be as follows. The using organization considered lighting, sprinkler, ceiling clearances, alarm considerations etc to arrive at the usable storage space for each facility. The usable space for arms room 1 in bldg 7462 is 20.5 ft long x 12 ft wide x8 ft high. The usable space for arms room 2, in bldg 7450 is 23.33 ft long x 22 ft wide x8 ft high. 19.QUESTION: I cannot identify CLIN 0006. RESPONSE: Please see question 9, above. 20.QUESTION: Is 512 the total bin requirement? RESPONSE: Yes, 512 is correct. 21.QUESTION: How do you want the unpacking and assembly portion of this addressed in the pricing? There is not a line for that. RESPONSE: The unpacking and assembly charge shall be included in the overall price for each CLIN. Do not quote unpacking or assembly separately.
