Main Street Marion, VA 24354 REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL Blue Ridge Job Corps Center, located at 245 W. Main Street in Marion, VA is soliciting bids for repair of flooring in main building. This is ARRA funded. SEE ATTACHED SCOPE OF WORK SCOPE OF WORK Removing several layers of flooring to the original floor joists. Blocking, planning, sanding, bridging, and reinforcing framing members to smooth level condition. Install ¾ T&G sturdy floor sheeting for a smooth level plane. Install ¼” underlayment. Install Tarkett #1327 VCT tile using eco friendly mastic.. Remove flooring of approximately 15000 square feet. Replace and paint all baseboards and flooring molding to compliment the original era of the building. Fire doors will need to be modified or replaced to allow for lower floors. Old plaster walls built on top of the floor will need to be replaced if damaged. This will include approximately 45 rooms & 3 hallways. CPP2 classroom and Career transition office are concrete and will require a concrete polymer floor leveling system that will protect from water underneath and with a hydro block formula. This room will be a seamless, tile design application that will be easy to maintain. These two rooms are approximately 1000 square feet. Baseboards will also be replaced in these rooms. All stairways coverings will also be replaced. They need to be replaced with anti-slip covering which must be approved by the Blue Ridge staff. This will include 7 stairways. All baseboards must to made of real wood. All baseboards must be painted by contractor. Color will be chosen by the customer.. The work at the Blue Ridge Job Corps Center will need to be coordinated as not to interfere with ongoing training and suitable living conditions. At all times the work area must be kept in reasonable healthy condition. ADA and means of egress will have constant monitoring by supervisor personnel. Proper state/county/town licensure One mill dollars ($1,000,000) general liability insurance coverage Workers Compensation Insurance (as applicable) See attachment for additional/specific requirements. As indicated above, all bidders are required to furnish a copy of their license and proof of insurances. Award will be given to the most responsive bidder in accordance with the criteria established under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). A walk thru will be provided upon request. Bid packets available on request.
