- PLEASE DISREGARD SOLICITATION 1 AND VA-262-09-RQ-0556 SC, THEYWERE POSTED IN ERROR. THE CORRECT SOLICITATION IS VA-262-09-RQ-0556 VA This procurement will be open to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned SmallBusiness concerns only. Solicitation number VA-262-09-RQ-0556 forOn-site Document Destruction will be set-aside in accordance with FAR6.206 for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns. Allinterested offerors will have to respond to the solicitationannouncement. The Department of Veteran Affairs, Network LogisticsOffice, VISN 22, is seeking sources for a contract to provide on-sitedocument destruction services to be done in the presence of a VAemployee for Government provided documents containing classified,sensitive confidential and medical records. The documents (paper data)shall be destroyed (shredded) using cross cut shredders which produceparticles that are no larger than 1 x 5 millimeters in size, and topulverize/disintegrate paper materials using disintegrator devicesequipped with 3/32 inch security screen. Protected informationcontained on any other form of media will be removed, obliterated, orthe media destroyed by or in the presence of a VA employee or contractoremployee in such a manner that is compliant with the National Institutesof Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-88,Guidelines for Media Sanitization and in accordance with VA Directive6371, Destruction of Temporary Paper Records. The contractor shallprovide all labor, personnel, equipment, supplies, secured vehicles,materials, supervision and other related services for the Department ofVeterans Affairs facilities located in Loma Linda CA, San Diego CA andLas Vegas NV Healthcare Systems. The intended contractperiod will be for a base year and four, one year option periods tobegin on or about October 1, 2009.
