Description
For more information contact Walter Brown, 732-532-8673 The US Army CECOM LCMC intends to acquire 40 each AN/PVS-7 Night Vision Goggles Gen III: Description: The AN/PVS-7B/D is an 18mm Gen III A new designation of AN/PVS-7B/D has been adopted by US Armed Forces that incorporates an advanced Gen III image tube with 64 lp/mm resolution. The goggle is intended for land use including vehicle driving. It is normally worn on a headmount or helmet mount device. When using the optional helmet mount, the goggle will automatically shut off in the up position. The goggle and its adapter are independently removable from the helmet strap. The goggle is powered by two internal AA batteries. When the batteries become low, a warning light is illuminated in the eyepiece field-of-view. The goggle has an infrared light source that will illuminate the nearby scene on command. This will allow the user to read maps, perform night repairs or perform maintenance tasks. The goggle may be used in conjunction with a personal weapon equipped with a boresighted infrared or visible aim-light/pointer. The AN/PVS-7B/D is designed to shut-off when it removed from its mount, or flipped to the up position. This feature prevents the user from being illuminated by the eyepieces when in either of these modes. An ON-OFF knob controls all of the features of the goggle. The RESET position is for reactivating the system after it was removed from its mount, or the goggle was flipped to the up position.. Each eyepiece and the objective lens can be individually focussed. These controls can be operated while wearing arctic mittens. The system may be used in conjunction with a protective face mask Respond to Walter Brown by COB 24 Sept 2009 at Walter.Brown2@us.army.mil, or phone 732-532-8673.
