Description
Recovery Action: As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the Department of Energy (DOE), Oak Ridge Office (ORO) has issued a task order against existing Environmental Management (EM) Nationwide Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contracts to perform EM scope on the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) site. DOE-ORO requires the services of a contractor to perform removal and disposal activities of approximately 26,000 cubic yards of "hot spot" soil contamination and hydraulically isolate two major sources of contaminant releases in Bethel Valley (i.e., Solid Waste Storage Area [SWSA] 1 and SWSA 3). The scope is based on the selected remedy presented in the Bethel Valley Watershed Interim Record of Decision (ROD). (DUNS # 192272396) Rationale for using other than a fixed price and/or competitive award: To reduce the time it would take to procure the required services DOE ORO awarded this task order under the existing EM Nationwide Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contracts.-These contracts help to stream line the competitive acquisition process and minimize the time it takes to procure the required services than if they were procured under full and open competition.
