- The VA Northern California Healthcare System, Consolidated Contracting Activity, intends to negotiate and award a noncompetitive acquisition for laser technician services and equipment at the Sacramento VA Medical Center for the approximate period of October 1, 2009 - September 30, 2010. There are is only one known source capable of providing these services and equipment: Healthstar Laser Services of Lafayette, CA. Services shall consist of aiding VA personnel in the effective application of lasers during surgical procedures. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR parts 12 and 13. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price. The NAICS code is 621399 and the size standard is $6.5 million. The procurement will be unrestricted; no set-asides shall apply. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued to the known sources. However, if a firm believes it can perform the required services, it can furnish detailed information about its capabilities to the Contracting Officer by e-mail (Ronald.Donez@va.gov) with the subject line 'Laser Technician Services' on or before the response date indicated in this announcement. Supporting information must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
