- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Togus, Maine intends to issue a solicitation requesting bids to provide all personnel and equipment for the operation of basic and advanced life support Ambulance Services for Zone 3 as identified in the solicitation. This service will be required on a twenty-four hour per day, 365 day per year, as-needed basis. Contract period will be one year from date of award (approximately November 1, 2009) with four (4) one year pre-priced option periods to be exercised at the discretion of the Government. The total contract duration will not exceed 5 years. Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, or Registered Nurses providing emergency services on the ambulance under this contract must be certified, licensed or otherwise officially recognized by the local, state or regional government or public entity where the emergency ambulance service is operated or by which it is governed. A complete Statement of Work will be included in the solicitation document that will be available on Fedbizopps on or about September 21st, 2009. Solicitation documents may be downloaded electronically at www.fedbizopps.gov. Solicitation responses will be due on or about October 19, 2009. It is the intent of the VA to solicit offers and award multiple contracts for Zone 3 on a competitive basis. This procurement will be conducted utilizing the commercial item procedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15. This procurement is not subject to set aside procedures. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 621910. The size standard for this NAICS codes is $7 million dollars in average annual receipts.
