- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Government anticipates awarding a firm fixed priced Requirements contract for Locating Underground Utilities at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, GA. For the period of 01 October 2009 through 31 December 2009. The service will include The contractor shall provide personnel, management, equipment, material, transportation, and communication to locate underground utilities and approve excavation permits to all government and private contractors performing construction, maintenance and repair or unit sponsored self help projects where excavating or design locates are required. Work shall be performed within the boundaries of Fort Stewart, Ga. and Hunter Army Airfield, Ga. These utility locates shall be performed for the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at each location. The contractor shall be responsible locating and marking the underground utilities owned by the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Stewart ( FS) and Hunter Airfield (HAAF). Utilities include natural gas, #2 fuel oil, potable water, waste water, industrial waste water, storm drain, roof drains, chilled water, high temperature water, irrigation/sprinkler, electrical (secondary electricity, airfield lighting, low voltage, fire systems), and DPW non fiber computer lines. The majority of locates will be for excavation purposes but contractor may be requested by DPW to locate utilities to assist in the design process of projects. The NAICS code is 541370 and the small business standard is $4.5 Mil. This action is 100% set-aside for Small Business Concerns. A written solicitation will be posted o/a 18 September 2009 at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi.
