- Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Boston Healthcare System, intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source to the Service Contract for the maintenance of the existing HAMO T840 Multi Chamber Washer, Basic Module 480V for Boston VA Healthcare. This is intended to be awarded to Steris Corporation, based on the fact that this contractor is the only contractor that can perform this work. The HAMO T840 Multi Chamber systems are manufactured by Steris, the parts and service for the equipmentthat run the system are proprietary and no other vendor has the software or parts to maintain, repair or troubleshoot the system. Because this is a continuation of their previous work, and the anticipation of duplication of efforts or increased costs, it is more appropriate to sole source this requirement, per FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). A firm fixed price contract with three option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This is not a Request for Proposal. However, companies that can provide an equal product must submit their technical capabilities, to include, technical specifications of their product, past performance information, price and delivery time. This information will be reviewed by the Government's technical representatives for consideration for future requirements. Email statements are preferred.
