Description
The A-10 Aircrew Training Systems (ATS) effort comprises two platforms: the A-10C precision engagement full mission trainer (FMT) and the hands on throttle and stick (HOTAS) Trainer. The A-10C FMT utilizes a high fidelity replica of the A-10 aircraft cockpit, an instructor operator station (IOS), a visual system, and simulation equipment to provide pilot initial and continuation training for flight mission and tactics. The HOTAS trainer is an A-10C precision-engagement (PE) functionality trainer meant for initial A-10C pilot conversion and training. Both simulators are augmented by a database generation system (DBGS). The A-10 ATS program provides contractor logistics support (CLS) and hardware/software modifications for trainers belonging to Air Combat Command (ACC), Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), and the Air National Guard (ANG) at 11 sites (9 domestic, 2 OCONUS). USAFE and PACAF are supported indirectly through ACC.
