Description
Be advised this project was awarded on a sole source basis to an 8(a) firm. The purpose of work is to replace two of the old housing units with new manufactured three-bedroom/two-bathroom homes. On as-constructed drawings, the units are identified as Residences #3 & #4. As indicated by Photos 1 & 2, the old units are single-level wooden type structures, installed in the early 1980s. Both units have detached garages, which shall not be replaced. The units are supported by a concrete perimeter foundation as well as adjustable steel jacks. The perimeter foundation measures approximately 23'-8" in width and 60'-0" in length along the exterior. Because the grade level below the homes is somewhat lower than the surrounding grade level there is typically standing water under the homes during the winter months, which needs to be eliminated. Jacks rest directly on soil, plastic pads as well as concrete pads. Power to existing units is all electrical, via 200-amp service. Potable water is provided via groundwater pumping and large distribution tank. Housing units are on a pumped sewer system that is gravity fed. Replacement work by the Contractor shall include: a. potential abatement work to remove relatively small amounts of asbestos and/or lead paint, b. complete removal and disposal of old housing units, c. disconnection and reconnection of all applicable utilities, i.e. electrical, water, sewer and communication lines, d. foundation and drainage work, e. on-site delivery and assembly of new unit, f. installation of engineered tie-downs g. installation of front and rear entrance decks with roofs and, h. installation of rain gutters and downspouts.
