Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Q. Since the original solicitation posting in late August 2009, the specifications for the mounting/hanging have been standardized as listed/explained in the PDF "backdrop info.pdf:" with the implication that a network of free-standing pipes is no longer the responsibility of the contractor. Is this a correct/valid understanding of the solicitation's requirements? ANSWER- WE DO NOT NEED A FREE STANDING DEVICE TO HANG OUR MURALS FROM. We are looking to hang murals from hooks placed into the ceiling. We require spaced grommets, with a pocket on Tom/Bottom to hold PVC pipe (we'll provide PVC Pipe). Q. Similarly, in the PDF "backdrop info.pdf," specification point number two (2) indicates that "the backdrops must be hand-painted/airbrushed." Thus, royalty right free digital image printing is currently completely off the table in spite of this process being entertained in the previously canceled solicitation. Is this a correct/valid understanding of the solicitation's requirements? ANSWER - CORRECT. We provided a concept of what we're looking for in our simulation lab, we provided assorted images to give you an idea of what we're looking for. Q. Also, if "the backdrops must be hand-painted/airbrushed" are there preferred paint chemicals/states (i.e. acrylics, latex, enamels, alkyds, oils); or is the certification of adequate fireproof -adherence parameter sufficient. Any info on this issue is helpful in factoring adequate drying and curing timeframe for the paint film. ANSWER- NO PREFERENCE ON PAINTS. Our only concern is with overall weight. Q. Can the Air Force's required delivery schedule be provided? If not specific due dates, can a working timeframe be provided, for example, are all six backdrops due on the same day? Ideally, can a guideline be approximated such that production logistics can be implemented; e.g., meetings, sketches, color swatches, etc. due within "X" weeks of award... followed by BACKDROP "01" of "01 through 06" due by "X" timeframe post award. ANSWER - DELIVERY SCHEDULE IS VERY FLEXABLE, ONCE AWARDED WE WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE MURALS WITHIN 4 MONTHS. Delivery of murals can either be single or all at once, not a concern with lab director. Q. I have requested information to the timeframe issue twice before and received no response; the timing issue is not insignificant as it directly affects pricing and the meeting of customized "hanging" parameters as currently defined. ANSWER - SORRY FOR THE DELAY, WE ARE RECEIVING NUMEROUS INQUIRES FOR THE PROJECT.
