Description
In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the 'Act'), Public Law 111-5, this notice is provided for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of Interior, U.G. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to issue Task Order G09PD01816 under established Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity contract number 08CRCN0053 awarded to Synergetics Incorporated. The project described below is within scope of the existing contract, which was originally awarded on a competitive basis. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE INCUMBANT CONTRACTOR. The Task Order issued against aforementioned contract is as follows: Contract/Order # G09PD01816, Fixed Price Level of Effort Dollar Value of This Action is $188,949.60. This type of task order is selected because the conduct research and develop tools based on the uncertain outcomes of the research. The Period of Performance is one year from task order award and Place of Performance is flexible, both on-site (USGS facility in Golden Colorado) and off-site (contractor facility). The nature of the work project work requires implementation of processes to generate near-real-time data products, particularly rapid response ground shaking maps ("ShakeMap"). The contractor shall conduct research and develop tools and techniques to improve the USGS's ability to accurately portray and estimate damaging earthquake ground motions. The contractor shall successfully deliver post-earthquake map products; this is vital to the mission and visibility of the USGS. Rapid ground motion shaking maps are critical to government and non-government emergency planners and responders, scientists, utilities, transportation organizations and the public. Funding for requirements to be completed by the contractor will utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements, is required. (ATN #ARRA-SE0001C.3 TAS 14 0803)
