- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a contract for the redesign of the AH-1Z and UH-1Y unique cuff and yoke to meet performance and life durability requirements to Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc. 600 E Hurst Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76101. This effort will require a multiple year milestone plan and must meet the functions of the existing cuff and yoke. This includes but is not limited to:-Writing specifications-Identification of risk-Design-Testing-Qualification-Production implementation-Conduct trade study of potential alternative hubs-Cuff and yoke performance shall meet/exceed 2.5 G capability-Common to both AH-1Z and UH-1Y -Cuff and yoke life shall meet: 1500 hours minimum durability and 5000 hour mean-Improve autorotation-Improve blade fold joint/actuator-Reduce chord loads-Increased inspection interval on cuff-Must meet H-1 Survivability Specifications-Must meet Cuff Ballistic Tolerance requirements-Evaluation of software impacts-Component shall be designed to mate with current hub and blade configuration.
