Description
Performance Work Statement (PWS) 1.1 Purpose/Scope The purpose of this PWS is to obtain hardware and engineering services in support of the Air National Guard (ANG) Block 30 F-16 Advanced Identity Friend/Foe (AIFF) program. This effort supports current and future installation phases of the program, which will allow for installation of 100+ systems on ANG aircraft. 1.2 Background The ANG has selected the AN/APX-113-56 Combined Interrogator/Transponder (CIT) AIFF system for their fleet of Block 25/30/32 C-model F-16 aircraft. To date, 81 ANG aircraft have been modified with the -56 AIFF system. Current funding will allow for fielding of approximately 100 additional systems, with expected future funding for additional installations within the next three years. AIFF is a critical system for the ANG ASA mission of national security, reducing fratricide and pilot workload while increasing pilot situational awareness. The ANG AIFF program has been funded with a combination of Defense Emergency Response Funds (DERF), Global War on Terror (GWOT) and Congressional Plus-up sources of funding. AIFF was initially fielded with Software Capabilities Update (SCU) 6 in November 2007. Group A and B Hardware kits are fully qualified and have been flying on ANG F-16 aircraft This acquisition is anticipated to go sole-source to BAE Systems (Cage Code: 80249)
