- Q. Does the prime contractor have to be an A/E firm or is it acceptable for the prime to have A/E registered/licensed subconsultants? A. The prime contractor does not have to be licensed to practice architecture or engineering. In order to meet the requirements of this acquisition, subconsultants may be proposed as part of your team to support architecture or engineering tasks. If so, these subconsultants must be licensed by law to practice the professions of architecture or engineering. Please provide all applicable licensing information available for the prime and/or all subconsultants or individuals proposed in your SF330. Q. Is this a replacement for an existing contract? Which firm currently holds the contract? A. U. S. Cost is currently under contract with NAVFAC for some of these types of services. However, the contract that will result from this synopsis is intended to primarily support cost engineering-related task orders. Other listed services may still be required, but they could be limited in number. Q: Can you please clarify whether the contractor will be designing anything on this contract? A: No design will be required. Q: What is meant by "The services may also include bench scale and prototype modeling, development of database and web-enabled design criteria support tools compatible with the WBDG web pages."? A: That sentence will be removed from the statement of work as it will not be required under this contract. Disregard the sentence above for purposes of SF330 preparation.
