Description
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: QUESTION 1--Are there Park approved, certified weed free, aggregate suppliers? ANSWER: Yes, the following sources are the only approved sources:Vulcan Quarry, Blount County, TNVulcan Quarry, Sevier County, TNAPAC Quarry, Swain County, NC QUESTION 2--There is neither specific starting nor end point information for Items 1, 2, and 6-9. Is the entire road named in the item to be graveled? or just a portion?ANSWER: Item #1 - Big Creek Road is 1.06 miles long. The offeror should plan to spread gravel at any location along this road at the direction of the NPS representative.Item #2 - Rich Mountain Rd - Although Rich Mountain Rd. is 6.7 miles long, the directions on the solicitation indicate that the only exit is to drive the entire length, so the offeror should plan to spread gravel at any location along this road at the direction of the NPS representative.Item #6 - Old Cataloochee Turnpike - Begin spreading at the NPS boundary and continue until quantities are met. Short sections may be skipped at the discretion of the NPS representative.Item #7 - Greenbriar Rd (the gravel section) is 3.27 miles. The offeror should plan to spread gravel at any location along this road at the direction of the NPS representative.Item #8 - Porters Creek Rd is 1.3 miles long. The offeror should plan to spread gravel at any location along this road at the direction of the NPS representative.Item #9 - Upper Tremont Rd is 3.23 miles long. The offeror should plan to spread gravel at any location along this road at the direction of the NPS representative. QUESTION 3--Item 5 is not specific as to how far (either direction) the stockpiling points are located from the park's entrance (on either side). are they evenly distributed along the length? are they concentrated near the gap?ANSWER:Item #5 - The gravel to be stockpiled along Newfound Gap Rd is all on the TN side of the park and shall be delivered within a 17 mile range from Gatlinburg, TN to Newfound Gap. No deliveries will go into the NC side of the park (Newfound Gap Rd.). The offeror should plan to stockpile the gravel at any location along this road at the direction of the NPS representative.
