- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Solicitation Number for this notice is NBCR09777 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside. The North America Industry Classification Code (NAICS) Code) is 423420 (Office Equipment Wholesalers). The American Indian Records Repository (AIRR), Lenexa, Kansas, has a requirement for the following: This requirement is for a Brand Name or Equal Purchase, of:One (1) Colortrac GX + 56c Scanner: 48 bit full color, Scan speed: ips in BW @ 200dpi, 1.5ips in color, 56" wide scan area, 61.8" max paper width, 600dpi optical resolution, up to 9600dpi interpolated, 0.08" media thickness, instant on LED Lighting. One (1) Canon IPF8000-S Plotter One (1) All in One Stand with PC Bundle: Single foot print Stand (Stacks the scanner & plotterOne (1) ScanWorks/Copyworks Software BundleMaintenance for the above listed equipment Delivery dates must be addressed in your quote. The government intends to award a fixed price contract. The following clauses apply FAR; 52.212-3 OFFEROR REPRESENTATIONS AND CERTIFICATION; 52.212-4 CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS COMMERCIAL ITEMS; 52.212-5 CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS REQUIRED TO IMPLEMENT STATUTES OR EXECUTIVE ORDERS COMMERCIAL ITEMS. Award shall be made to the offeror whose quotation is determined to represent the best value to the Government after considering technical and pricing information. Offeror quotes must be submitted in accordance with instructions specified in the 52.212-01 Instructions to] Offerors-Commercial Items. INSTURCTION TO OFFERORS: Offeror shall be submitted in writing via email to Okpemitoritse_U_onuwaje@nbc.gov or faxed at (303)-969-5468 no later than September 21st, 2009 3 PM MDT. Justification for Brand Name or Equal: Most of the archived maps to be scanned are larger than 42 inches. Due to being fragile American Indian records, they cannot be disassembled. On-going litigation requires reproduction of these maps as documents for discovery; therefore the ability to reproduce the documents is essential. The majority of the maps are fragile and aged. This 56" large scanner will allow the staff to handle copies instead of the originals which is critical to the preservation of these fragile documents. The canon ip8000 is the most compatible plotter for the software designed for the GX+ 56 scanner.
