- This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and A SEPERATE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The U.S. Geological Survey, Alaska Science Center, Anchorage, AK has am immediate requirement for the following information technology items: 1(each) storage server array and 1(each) Host Bus Adapter( 8-port extension cable) This solicitation document contains incorporated provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-36, dated 10 September 2009. The solicitation number for this procurement is 09WRQQ0215 and is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This request for quote is NOT set-aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334112 with an applicable size standard of 500 employees. Provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Request for Quotation (RFQ) should be submitted and shall contain the following information: RFQ NUMBER; TIME SPECIFIED FOR RECEIPT OF OFFERS; NAME, ADDRESS; TELEPHONE NUMBER OF OFFEROR; TERMS OF THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY; ANY DISCOUNT TERMS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ALL SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS (if applicable). Signed quotes must indicate quantity, unit price and total amount for each item. Offerors shall include a statement specifying the extent of agreement with all terms, conditions and provisions included in the solicitation. Quote shall also contain all other documentation specified herein. EVALUATION/AWARD: The Government will award a purchase order to the offeror whose price is judged to represent the best value to the government. Evaluation criteria are as follows: Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA). The minimum required specifications for the data Storage Unit and Host Bus Adapter(HBA) are as follows: Line Item 001-- Storage Unit- support Solaris operation system- hot-swappable 3 Gbit/s hard disk- redundant hot-swapping power supplies- host interface card supporting Sun Fire V210 or T1000 server- 2 meter cables- maximum size: 4u (7 in. x 19 in. x 30 in.)- 3 year warranty Line Item 002-- HBA- 3 Gb/s per port - (2) x4 external SFF-8088 mini-SAS connectors- 8-lane, 2.5 Gb/s PCI Express- MD-2 small form-factor design- Connects to SAS and SATA HDDs and tape drives- Allows more than 122 total end-point devices- Provides more than 140,000 I/O per second All offerors must be Central Contractor Registered (CCR) and online representation and certification application (ORCA) must be activated. ORCA registration for on line representation and certification requirements may be viewed via the internet at www.bpn.gov.
